Beth Goode, National End-of-Life Doula Association certified Doula
End-of-life planning and care
Death is a momentous time.
When someone is dying, everyone is experiencing emotions and big feelings. There is bravery in facing the unknown that attends death. It is helpful to have support and aid during this time. A doula provides that aid and comfort. By asking questions, I am able to help the client to reflect upon and discuss how they want their death to unfold. I assist in ensuring that ultimate vision comes to fruition down to the sights and sounds, the fabrics they want to feel and with whom they want to be as they are dying. By sharing with family and caregivers the needs of the client, loved ones can truly be present for the dying person as they pass.
The dying process can be a time of fear or grace. It allows for the possibility of immense emotional healing for all involved. My skills and compassion inform my guidance and loving support to everyone affected during this monumental transition. This enables the death and the experiences after death to be full of less fear and more grace.
